ABOUT US

Lavender Zines is a digital and physical archive preserving queer magazines and ephemera from the 1960s. From erotic magazines and drag queen matchbooks to radical newsletters, we spotlight LGBTQ+ history, art, and underground culture, one printed page at a time.
OUR PROCESS

COLLECT
We source queer magazines, and ephemera through community donations, estate sales, and forgotten corners of the internet. Every find is a reminder of the lives, desires, and ideas that shaped queer culture.
DIGITIZE
Every item is carefully scanned to create a high-quality digital version. This ensures long-term access and makes rare or fragile materials available to a wider audience.
PRESERVE
We care for physical materials using archival methods that extend their life and accessibility. From printed paper to matchbooks, each item is stored with attention to its condition and history. Preservation is a slow, intentional process rooted in respect.

Happiness is rebellion. Queer joy is resistance.
Here’s how you can help...
PROTECT QUEER HISTORY
FUND THE FUTURE
Support this archive’s work to rescue, digitize, and defend queer print culture from disappearance and decay. Donations help cover archival supplies, storage, and preservation costs.
Your contribution is direct action.
FUND THE FUTURE
Have queer magazines, flyers, or ephemera? Don’t let them fade, send them our way so they can live on and be seen.
SPREAD THE JOY
Share the archive. Share the stories. When we celebrate queer history, we protect it, and ourselves.
